A vet bring back Browning HIgh Power, It is an early german marked pistol with a tangent sight and no slot on the backstrap. He asked me what caliber it was when i got it from him he never shot it!. It sat in the holster for 60 years and shows some freckling on the muzzle from the leather on one side of the slide but other than that it is in excellent condition. He gave me his discharge papers and some other pictures and papers so i put together this display with his appropriate medals and insignia. He also had the original holster, extra mag, and LUft buckle and belt.

Nice collection, the 83rd Infantry Division group is very nice. My stepfather was in the 83rd, "Rag Tag Circus" was the nick name as I recall.

                      Nice collection

I like the way you are presenting your collection ...

The sign which is next to the MG34 has a spelling mistake

Maschinengewehr would be correct , but thats not so important i think

I thought the same about the sign. It came from a place in california called vintage signs. They are on the internet and have some pretty nice looking things. thanks for the positive comments. All pieces within the displays are originals and correct for the display (as far i know) if you spot something wrong please let me know. I place a nice historical/educational write up with each display and get quite a few nice comments on them. Also great for getting leeds at gun shows and other not so military type shows I am glad you liked them. This forum has been a great help in putting them together thanks to all frank v. (vitts)

Great stuff Frank I must admit to liking the US Veterans group too. Plus the HP is one of my favourite pistols.

                          Cheers, Ade.

i realy enjoyed puttting the browning display together. The vet walked into a show and saw two brownings i had on display. He asked if i bought them? then told me he had one that he picked up in Germany. It was part of a mass capture/surrender by the Elb river. The Germans did not want to surrender to the Russians. He said he picked up about 30 pistols and gave them away to men in his unit. He kept the browning because it looked so good. He never shot it and did not even know what caliber it was. The realy neat thing was i got it from him on veterans and took my 7yr old (it was his birthday (born 11/11/2000) grandson with me. I got some nice pics of Mr. Kreidler and his wife with the pistol and my grandson together. The finish is freckled from sitting in the holster for sixty years but it is one i will never get rid of. It will go to my grandson frank v.
