Help on 1st model FG42 detail info

Dear friends, i have never handled an FG42 in my live, I am working on a 1/6 scale model of a Hedgrow FJ hunter, I am arming him with a 1st model FG42 and i just cant find a picture that tels me waht the stock is made off. i found a thread at www.lerenfort.fsnet.co.uk that showes one but from that it looks like it is made out of steel is this true?

Please forgive an ignorant question for you experts, but I dont want to make a mistacke on the piant job on my model

Yes, the buttstock is made out of stamped steel painted black. best wishes,
