I was at a buddy"s house last night and he showed me 4 K98s he had just picked up. One of them was receiver marked L P in a flowing script. Also dated 1942.. this rifle had a short rail scope mount with no scope. Who is this L P manufacturer? Anything special about this rifle?

It is not LP but a script CE for J.P.Sauer.. It has been erroneously stated in several books as LP which is totaly wrong... A nice sniper missing scope how about some picts...BILL -
