    mg34 help !!!!

Hi lads posting this question whilst in work so no scans at the moment but hopefully someone may know the answer without it. I have recently aquired a very late war 1945 stamped mg34 and everything is A1 except the butt which again has got all the standard fittings etc but is missing the 'spikey bit' at the bottom. As its a late war one is the a manufaturers simpler butt for ease of manufacture or a post war made up one to possibly replace a damaged one. I know the repros on the market are mirror images of what you would expect to see so its not one of them. Any ideas? Regards and seasons wishes Paul

Is your mg a dot 1945(Brno Czechoslovakia) as quite alot of these were made in after the war for export to Israel .the but has probably been altered by one of the several forces that used them

Yes it is a DOT model so does this mean its not an original MG34?

Yes it is a original mg34 but possibly manufactured by the Czechoslovakian Government post 1945 for export utilising original and remanufactured parts assembled into working guns and sold for export. These mg34s have fewer waffen ampts than the earlier war time models but you have still got an mg34
