    German Wooden Bullets

    Hi,

I was given a box of 1941 WWII German 7.92x57 (8mm) Mauser wooden bullets. The wood part of the bullet is stained redish purple. Can anyone tell me what these were used for and what the value of the original box and 12 bullets might run?

    Thank you! Dennis

The shorter tipped ones are for firing rifle grenades but the standard shaped projectiles are blanks for practice firing MGs. I suspect yours are MG blanks. If you do a search here you can read an in depth discussion of them.

    Here are some MG blanks.
