    P38 Walther

    Hi all,

A couple of months ago I bought enthousiast this gun.
The gun has been made safe by an armory. You can still fire it dry.
What do you think about this purchase? What can you tell about the manufacturer Ulm?
    And its value?
    Many thanks.
    Bye.

Ulm is the post war location of Walther. They are still there today I think. The pistol looks like a usual post war P38 also known as P1.

      Hi,

As already said, it is a post-WWII pistol. They were used by the Bundeswehr until 1980 or so, but it is still in production today (according to the Walther' s website). Yours has an alloy frame.

      Wishes,

      Douglas.

The Bw used the P1 until the mid 90's, now the HK P8 (USP). P1/P38 production ended loooong ago.

They produce the P99 and their P22/G22 line together with the small bore and the air pistol/rifle sport line in Ulm, the PP/PPK are made by Walther USA.
