I'm going to state $1500 ballpark for a collector condition "good" luger.
That is obscene, but people have gone crazy over them.
Very hard to find an "unmessed with" example nowadays.
Firing one is a crapshoot these days, break a numbered part and lose a few hundred bucks. Spares are getting non extant.
Neat pistols, though.

I agree except compared to many if not most other 3rd Reich items Lugers are the one great bargin left. Most everthing else has gone up 10 fold in the last 30 years and Lugers have only increased about 5 times their mid 70s value...with some exceptions which have moved up more than that.
The "Luger Forum" is an entirely different web site from this one and I doubt that it would be of that much help in buying one. I would really recommend that you attend a large show in your area and find some one who will assist you selecting one.
