Wrong barrel?

Why a wrong barrel. The mp43 is supposed to to have a unstepped barrel. In fact it's a mp43/1 which has a straight barrel and a square front sight pedestral.

It's too long for a start and it's tappered.

The MP43 barrel should be stepped as you say, but the MP43/1 barrel should be straight, not tappered.

This gun looks like a re-watt where the barrel had to be replaced.

Well, if I had 20,000 to blow I guaruntee I'd have read a library on it and still have it checked out like 5 times. Good eye though. Just think it's cool when these things pop up. Someday....

In my country these are legal to own and shoot ,but in original configuration.There are other countries in the world where it is legal to own guns. This thing is absoluely of no historical interest.If its just for shooting it might be ok but otherwise....
