Mod. 1891 Argentine Mauser with crest

Here are a few shots of something different.
An 1891 Mauser made by DWM. Condition is excellent and all matching. It's crest is unground....most of them that you see will be.

                Mike,
It's a rifle in hand....I think Bill's messed with it..He can tell you.
It shoots great. I've got a couple thousand rounds of ammo for it around here somewhere.

                  Hi,

                  Nice pictures.

I have to admit this is my favorite rifle

On my first trip to a gun store as a kid, there was this big rain/water barrel stuffed with these Argentine '91 Infantry models,,,

Price was less than $20 each, all matching, packed in cosmoline,,,,my Dad couldn't see the bore because of all the grease, but the bolt was so good he got one.

                  I remember asking,,,how do u spell Mauser:-)

                  Take care,
                  Jim K.

I remember these well. Most were brand new, but all I ever saw were ground-really marred beautiful pieces.
The rifles were about $20 and the carbines were $25.
Bayonets were 3 bucks. I still got one with ground crest.

IIRC Argentina has a law that all the crests have to be ground off before selling them off for surplus.

                      As always very, very nice!
