Japanese Machine Guns - how best to move them

I'm not keeping the Japanese Type 99 and Type 11 machine guns discussed in this thread http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...light=japanese, and am looking for a venue to sell them. Can these be sold on Ebay? What other method does one have to dispose of such items?

For people familiar with such things, I'd appreciate some guidance. Thanks - Robert

If they are live you can donate them, but even if they are Dewated Ebay will not allow it. If they are papered Dewats, I will take them.

As best I can recall, you never updated us as to what happened to the guns after BATFE got involved. Just going off the last information you provided, I assume that what you now have are parts kits, less the receivers that were cut up by BATFE?

The parts kits are not firearms so, as long as you are only selling them inside the U.S., there are no federal laws regulating the sale. Also, I don't think there would be any state or local laws applicable either - unless you have a magazine (30 rounds, i.e. "high capacity") for the T.99. Some state laws (NJ, CA for example) regulate so-called "high capacity" magazines.

Once you set a price, please let me know what you want for the kits. Also, I would be especially interested in a magazine for the Type 99, as my nice condition (and federally registered) gun is missing its magazine.

Hi Alan,
Yes, the receivers are going to be cut, and are in the custody of the BATF until that task is completed. The rest of the guns (parts kits) are what I'll be selling. I'm supposed to get the pieces of the receivers back, but we'll see.
No real update, other than I'm not keeping them.

Hi Robert,

Unbeknownst to me, eBay changed their rules again in the past year. Several years ago, it was fine to sell machine gun and automatic weapons parts and accessories, but when I went to list my MG and Carbine parts and accessories again this year, I found that they now have a "No Automatic Weapons Or Accessories" rule which even got my canvas M10 Tool Rolls for the Browning .50 HMG and canvas M13 Spare Parts Rolls for the M2 Carbine yanked with a 2nd strike warning again. Your best bet would be Auction Arms or some other on-line auction site who have no problems with the selling of these weapon parts.

You might want to give Zane a call here in GJ. He has a couple legal T99's he might want your spare parts for.

Try sending the guns to New Zealand to a collector, that would save them.
