      Sholder holster

Here is an interesting holster a local fellow showed me today along with a browning FN 1922 with a drop holster. The shoulder holster was found with the browning in its holster with capture papers. It has a tiny German eagle on the flap, maybe put on by the vet. The leather on the holster feels like the sheepskin leather you see on the eastern front shearling coats and hats, it is very soft.

The rivets look like hobnails but are split rivets on the back
      What do you think?

        Front of drop holster,

I think there is a piece of leather missing off the back of the drop holster, right?

Sorry I did not see this post last year. You are correct. The Akah design registered "Reichsbank" model holster was used by member of the Gestapo, Kripo and other RSHA units. I would estimate the value at between $150 and $200.

Yes Dan, your Browning 1922 holster is missing the belt loop section through which the two vertical straps slide.

JoeW Hello and thank you for your answer
I should have asked if this holster "Reichsbank" was designed for a particular weapon or are universal. If a specific weapon then what? Have to admit that to him very well, for example, sets PPK, Sauer 38H, PP is already too large for this case..

The "Reichsbank" copyright design holster made by Akah was produced in sizes to fit several semi-auto pistols, ie. PPK, PP , usw. Those sold by Walther or their agents were marked for their pistols like this one on the right, next to one sized to fit the Walther PP.

I would think if the Italians had shoulders holsters in WW2.. Possibly the Germans had them also.. Not offical issue but???????.. Is there not a picture in the Great SS book (WHEN ALL THE BROTHERS ARE SILENT) of a SS tanker wearing a shoulder holster with a P38 in it????????.. BILL
Hi, I know it's been ages since your post. But can you(or anyone else) tell me, which page is the picture on? I would be very grateful.

                        Hi Carles,
nice photo and thanks for posting! To me it is very interesting since it's first picture of german soldier with shoulder holster I've seen (unless it's something else, but I doubt that)
