    The serial number corresponds to a 1944 manufacturer date. Came with a nice 44 dated shoulder holster too. G May

          A week or so ago on one of those Saturday "shooting" shows a expert marksman was talking about the bad reputation the model 1911 has at longer distances. He then put rounds damn near the center of the targets at 100 yards. Then "dropped" rounds in at 200 yards.

            200yards? with a .45? imagine that BAD bruise you'd get if hit

              i'll bet our guys over in the middle east would love to have that rem-rand instead of the awful M9! i'm sure you've all heard of the poor performance of the 9mm ball round in afganistan. gee, i thought our military figured that one out 100 years ago!!
