Hello,
I've been offered a matched 1916 Luger by a friend who obtained it about 3 yrs ago directly from the gentleman that brought it back from WWII. I haven't seen the pistol since then, but I remember it having some significant blueing wear, so I'll rate it at 85% + or -. The original grips were worn smooth on the edges but no chips or cracks. The friend (who is not a collector) purchased some repro grips and put these on it so he could go shoot this 90 yr old pistol!
Anyway, he's wanting to sell it now. He has both the original and repro grips, the magazine is the correct wood based type but doesn't match the pistol, and unfortunately I can't remember if it is an Erfurt or DWM. He has offered the pistol at $750.
I know it is difficult to judge without photos (he lives several states away) but what is your initial opinion on this price?
Thank you in advance!
William
