                Reference book

                Get yourself a copy of "The German Assault Rifle 1935-1945" by Peter R. Senich (Paladin Press ISBN 0-87364-400-X). Heaps of info and photos of German automatic rifles, and a chapter for both the Walther and Haenel variants.

                Regards;

                      The Walther fired from a closed bolt.

                      Cheers, Ade.

                        Hi,yes but is it operated by a simple BLOWBACK,like a smg,or is it by a RECOIL BOOSTER(MUZZE BOOSTER),like a MG42?

                          The MKb 42(W) is a gas operated weapon. As Ade said it fired from a closed bolt and incorporated a bolt-catch mechanism that held the bolt open after the last round. It was capable of single and automatic fire.
