    Hi Alan,

    thanks for the comments, that reassures me quite a bit.

    The steel spacer belt is only 2 50cm long sections, the belt fell to pieces some time since 1918. The brass one is a babe though ;-)

    I have bought the book you mentioned, will be getting it in a month or so.

        Glad to hear that you have ordered "The Devil's Paintbrush". This is an excellent book and will really give you a new appreciation for your Maxim and accessory items.

        BTW: Make sure you ordered the Third Edition of the book - that is the most recent version and contains lots of data and photos that are not in the first and second editions.
