Painted Radom grips?

    Painted Radom grips?

    I just picked these original Radom grip's up as you can see someone spray painted them... nice eh! Now my question, what is the best way to get this paint off?

    I have been told that these wartime grip's had a coating applied that gave them a sheen and that this coating is fragile?

    Please share your thoughts with me on this one.

      Wow....I don't know. By any chance is there some of this paint on the back of the grips?
      The reason that I ask is that you could try some lacquer thinner on a small spot and see if it will come of.
      Your right though...it may leave the grips looking dull.
      One thing that you can do or try is warm water, soap and a tooth brush. Just regular bar soap is fine. If the paint is thin, the hot water, brush and soap may work.
      I guess I would try some thinner first and see if it damaged the grips when the paint comes off...just test a small spot.
