In later wartime production of the Mauser HSc pistol, the Kriegsmarine used an acceptance stamp of an Eagle over M111/3 at the rear of the left side trigger guard. Does anyone know the significance of this Eagle M111/3 Kriegsmarine marking, or know of any WWII German Navy reference(s) that might provide an explanation?

Kriegsmarine proof on HSc pistols
Chip:
Thank you for your reply and for pointing out that great WWII German site, feldgrau.com!
How do we find the location and mission of the 3rd Marine (Kriegsmarine) Artillery Regiment? We do know that the early KM pistols had an acceptance mark of Eagle/M pantagraphed on the front grip strap, and it was assumed that this was done at large naval installations such as Kiel before being distributed throughout the Kriegsmarine.
I've seen an 88mm U-Boat deck gun projectile also marked with M111/3.
It would be hard to believe that an artillery regiment would be charged with inspecting and proofing KM ordnance for the entire Navy. But who knows, perhaps that regiment had inspection teams assigned to various factories.
Any further information on this subject would be gratefully received!

Hi; Join the feldgrau forum and post the question regarding location and mission to the members. The equipment would be as I understand sent to the Navy arsenals from the Mauser plant already proofed and inspected and from there would be distributed to the Navy.Good Luck.I'm trying to research the Naval Arsenals but, can't find their locations. Hello, is possible that we can see those KM control stamps on guns, I'm very interested in it as a Kriegsmarine collector, because there is not to much information about this and it's minning.
Thanks.Collector of Kriegsmarine and Küstenartillerie items
