I bought my first G43 . I pick it up in a few days, it's a duv 44 and all the numbers match, including the stock! I don't know whats going on with the price of the g43 but they are getting out of sight, I rember seeing them in the 80's for around $600.00 what the hell happened?

what happened

well just my opinion but darrin weavers book hitler's garand and video games. i can't tell you how many ppl pop up on the forums and ask about a gun they saw in the video game and have to have it!!!!!! it sickening, yes great for gun industry new blood, bad on limited numbers of rifles available, and another prices through th roof. with darrin's book all the rare and hard to find models exposed double adn trippled over night. prior to the book there was no place to turn to get info you had to collect and learn along the way. now that the info is out there, only a click way to an education enough to get an example ppl are buying more faster with solid info then the slow learn as i go cause info is unavailable. other ppl find the book and either start collectiong or have to have at least 1 example for there ww2 collection they are starting. so if 8 rifles a month pop up with 7 being shooters adn mismatches and 1 bieng the allmatching in avergae 85%+ condition ppl are bidding fast and often since they are just NOT out here in this condion. on a daily bases i have seen old collectors with a few shooter and still waiting 3+ years for that really nice example for there collection with prices so high ther hoping for a local at a more reasonable price.

I'd simply say the same has happened to these as most other militaria and that is most everythig is 3 to 5 times more than is was 20 years ago.
