    Walther PPk with Muzzle Number

Here are a few photos of a muzzle numbered PPk. These have been generating some interest among the Walther collectors over the past year or so based on the research of John Pearson.
He has uncovered some pretty strong information that suggests that these were issued to the RSHA. To include the way that slide was numbered and the way that serial number was placed on the magazine.
After I bought this pistol I checked it against the serial numbers listed int "SS Walther PP/PPk 1939-1944" by Joachim Gortz and Dieter Marschall. The serial number of the gun and the serial number of the magazine (mismatched) are very close to those listed in the book.

                    Bob,
Thanks for the reply. I didn't know that they were starting to climb in value. That's interesting.
What was the condition of the gun?
John really helped me with mine as well. I knew that something was unusual about it and that it was close to the numbers in the book but John really knows his stuff.
Apparantly he has come accross a couple with muzzle numbers and holsters that are directly linked to the RSHA in addition to vast serial number data.
                    Congratulations on your PP.
Maybe one day some more serial number information like Dieter published will be uncovered.

                        Thanks Bob,
I'm going to record that serial number in my book.

For those who haven't seen the book that we are making reference to here is a photo of it.
John Pearson's serial information and collected information was published in Automag over several installments.
