unknown holster

Hi guys, did the U.S. Army issue these Brauer holsters?
It was found in an old army footlocker.
It appears to be dated 1943.

Brauer made both hip and shoulder holsters for .38 caliber revolvers during the war, although they are usually marked 'US.'
The design of yours is quite different from any I've seen in my books, although I've no specialty references on holsters.

Thanks for your reply, most likely a private purchased piece. I couldn't find a good reference on it either and decided to give it a try in this forum.
