I recently traded for an unmessed with 1943 Remington Rand 45 in a nice brown holster. I also have a 43 dated marine ammo belt. Would it be correct to hang the 45 below the ammo pouches? Where would the extra clip pouch go? If not I can put it on an empty web belt but being an ex-marine and that they are both 43 dated it would be cool to put them together but would it be correct?

Dennis,
I had to find this after I saw your question. It took some digging but I think this is what the pistol belt looked like.
This one is WWI but I believe that the WWII would be simmilar. I don't collect U.S. so someone correct me if I'm wrong on this.
What I think is nice about this one is that it is all matching. I wonder if this is common?
I don't think mine is a repro. I looks and feels pretty good. But like I said I don't collect U.S. so.... Anyway, I think this is the type of rig that you are looking for.

Hi R.Blue,
You have a very nice original WWI rig. It is not a repro. You do occasionally see GI's wearing the pistol with the cartridge belt....but it was very uncommon, mainly paratroopers did it.

Hi Dennis, I know these are located in the UK, but if you want a stone mint pistol belt, there are some great ones here:

I have seen them in person. They came out of Russia and were unused ex lend lease supplies.
Cheers, Ade.
