    Does this increase value?

My Dot 1944 has a BYF stock but the stock matches the rest of the gun. Does this increase value? Why does it have a BYF stock?

Without seeing it there is no real way to tell you. The most likely explanation is that it was renumbered post war. But unless we can see the font there is no way to tell you.

      Josh,
We need to check and see if BRNO purchased or aquired stocks from Mauser. They did aquire some floorplates from Mauser.
Can you post photos of the numbering?

        Josh,
Do both the stock and handguard match numbers with the rifle? What marks indicate a byf? Refer to the thread I began on a similiar issue that is still an unresolved stock mystery! Does you stock have a capital letter C near the butt behind the trigger guard for Gustloff Werke?
        Thanks,
        Mike

It cant be renumbered because my Grandpa took it off of a dead German, the floor plate has BYF on it and the forearm has BYF on it. It doesnt have a C on it.

            Josh,
The "byf" floorplate is correct. Mine was like that . It was stamped and not milled.

My brother's dou44 has several Mauser parts in it. I've heard of a couple of others that also contain Mauser parts. They probably got parts from Mauser to supplement their production. Never heard of stocks though.

So I take it that this is rare.

What is the serial range of this rifle? I have seen a few CZ rifles period assembled with E/135 marked stocks which were numbered to the rifles. Although unique I would not classify such a variation as rare.

you guys missed that i have seen 2 dot receivers that were completely finished by mauser as the receiver is WaA135!!!! there was a thread of REPLACTMENT stocks byf marked and researialed to the rifles and had 42 dated stock even though the rifle was a 39, 43, 44 no clue how or why or fi they were real.

So this is rare. The serial number is 849228 or 84922b( cant tell if the last digit is a 8 or a B).

                        vaughan,

I didnt miss it. I have seen a couple w/o 135 final assembly proofing. Very strange birds indeed.

Does that increase value if it is Heer marked?
