    One MP40. I need help!!!

    Hi all,

I have reserved this MP40 . (confirmation of definitive purchase pending).

I wanted to know the opinion (some help ) of the forum's experts in these topics before confirming the reservation.

What do you think of the markings?
Especially, I would know how much I’d must paid for this MP40.

Any commentary is welcome, I am beginning in this.

    Thanks to all,
    BCV

Sure looks good to me. Nice early gun.

Can you own live guns in Spain?

Hello, A lot depends on whether or not it is a tube gun or original, matching serial numbers, condition of bore, excessive play in stock etc. A tube gun will sell for under $10,000 and an all matching serial numbers in good condition upwards of $20,000. The small eagles with numbers under them are the waffenampts (inspection markings). The Germans had a habit of numbering almost every part, including the firing pin, sometimes screws. The gun appears to be in good condition and should make a good shooter. The MP40 is a fun gun to own and fire. Hope this helps.

There is really surprising the variation of price that exists on the market for a mp 40.

In this forum (in E- stand) they ask for 2457 pounds for one (3552 Euros; 4544$) :

            .......................................
            MP40 (5th Variant) BNZ 1943
            All Matching Numbers, Everything.
Old Spec - deact 1994, with certificate
Action is the best I have ever seen, really tight & crisp.
Folding stock is also as tight as it gets.
It has 98% "Original War Time" Finish & not be played with.
            .................................................. ....
            http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=163130

And for example in this web there is one for 850 pouds (1228 euros, 1572$):
            .................................................. ..............
Deactivated MP40 submachine gun 1942 dated BNZ manufactured example. This example is deactivated to current specification. Bakelite sides and aluminium grips. A genuine Nazi stamped WWII MP40

the one on e-stand IMHO is over priced and worth more like ******163;2000 but is an old spec witch means its basically live but the barrel welded up and the bolt face ground at an angle
the other one is new spec wich means you cant cock it or pull the trigger or even break it down in some cases and i have seen these sell for up to ******163;900
Lon what you are on about is irelevent in the europe or the rest of the world as you can own live MGs so tube guns dont exist here so just deacts which are worth nowhere near as much as live ones
