    Hungarian WW1 frommer stop

Does anyone know about the hungarian made 1912 frommer stop pistol. I've found one I'm interested in but these things are hardly my speciality, I welcome any info on this one. See pictures.

        Simon,

        Welcome to the Firearms forum!

The Frommer Stop pistol was introduced in 1912 and was manufactured by Fegyvergyar, Bupadest, for the Hungarian and German military during World War I. It was an auxiliary arm in both armies. This pistol design employs an overly complicated locked breech rotating bolt action for the low powered 7.65 mm cartridge. Manufacturing continued into the 1930's. A very few of these pistols in 7,65 caliber were acceptance stamped by the Imperial German Army. Yours seems to bear the Austro Hungarian Eagle and the "1917" date.

        Douglas.

Not a bad little pistol. Having some ammo problems with mine, but it could be the magazine. Yours was accepted in 1917 and has the Hungarian double shield proof. Honved issue in WWI.

Cheers Gents, I appreciate the info.

What do ytou know about the grips, what are they constructed of I read somewhere that it was some sort of Rubber in WW1 and striped wood post 1918.

Also, any chance I could get a picture of a similar hungarian shield marking?

            Many thanks,

            Simon Cooper
