I think that's what I read it cost the U.S. Government to have Guiding Lamp (Div. of General Motors) make the 'Liberator'. Tubular barrel and stamped frame, in .45ACP. Not much accuracy, but just great for sticking in a sentry's ribs so as to acquire his 98k.

You know your in trouble with the Sgt. if your given one of these handguns for your protection.

They might be cheap, but who would want to out into the night to go up against any military personel, carring this weapon?

You have to wonder how many "freedom fighters" were killed using this weapon.

Hi Joe,

As the story goes, these Liberators were not issued to any U.S. Service Personnel. They were air dopped 'en masse' to the resistance who needed all the firepower they could get. Again, this was not to be a fighting weapon, but something a little less risky than a stilletto. A means to an end.
