G98/40 Front Sight Hood

I have a really nice G98/40 on the way and the only thing wrong with it is that it is missing the front sight hood. I have been looking around for one but haven't had any luck. While I certainly would much rather find an orginal one, I did find someone that can make up some reproduction G98/40 front sight hoods but I would need to get him dimensions and details (obviously an original to work from would be best but close up, detailed pictures with dimensions would also probably work).

Any help finding an original or getting dimensions and info to make them up would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for offering your assistance on the 98/40 front sight hoods. Is there any way you could take your sight hood off of your rifle and measure everything out (including the thickness of the metal), maybe even trace it for the rounded shape and take a ton of photos of it? I have a guy that says he could make them up but I'm sure he will need micrometer accurate dimensions to make them properly.

It sounds like there are a bunch of guys that need one and I guess a good repro is better than nothing.
