Transparency, honesty and total trust ... without that what have you got in a relationship ? My wife has tolerated me (and my hobby) for almost 30 years ... when I had to I sold my SS and other bits collection to pay the mortgage, now we don't have a mortgage she had no problem with me resurrecting my collecting habit ... this time with medals.

That being said she is strongly against firearms and as we can only have deacts or replicas in this country I have no quarms sticking to ribbon awards.

For better or for worse I NEVER lie to my wife and children.

put one of my c96s in a box in front of my wife. iam sending it off for repair.
when the new c96 is delivered .looks like they fixed the problem. have 6 now and in a couple weeks should have my schnellfeuer.all guns look the same to wifles who dont shoot.and who hate guns

All look the same upside down? sure...if you are 100 feet away maybe. Most women hate guns, I've had a few here and there over the years that tolerated them but that was a s good as it ever got. You guys who hide this stuff and militaria too amuse me to no end, there has never been a woman in my life that did not know about EVERYTHING that I did or do.

You all are responsible for your own mistakes. IF you decide to marry a woman afraid of guns, she has even deeper seated paranoia than that....so marry her, and expect to lose half of everything you own...yes that means this stuff and the guns to boot.
Looks , versatility, the ability to think on ones feet, and also have intelligence all make a good partner to share your life with. To be able to shoot straight , and defend your lives is also something necessary for a woman to be schooled how to do , without shooting herself or you in the foot, or worse...so if a woman isn't aware you are all American....and believe in freedom to bear arms, then rejects you over this issue, the only time it is the right thing to do is if you are an insecure, but jealous man who was mentally unstable and just might be the type to off you because he is womanizing and got caught, or the man is abusive, and when she wants out he cannot handle rejection, and when she leaves, he hunts her down and kills her.Happens in the news all the time.

This question initially asked, does only pertain to normal men who are not insecure, and do not control the mate to think she is his property .

So women reading this....if you find through time you really married mr Hyde...before you leave, do not tip your hat, and hide where you will never be found , with a good man who will protect you, and be the best actress you can be (academy award quality) so he will not know ahead of time you no longer can take his abuse.....oh let's not forget crazy women who murder good men also to get their life insurance policy's...men...it can go both ways....be sure when possible you are with someone who likes you for who you are....and not for those small pieces of paper that carry a lot of weight, when they tire of you.....there is no simple answer. But if there were one I would say from the start...first date might be at the range shooting.....but that would be in a perfect world.

Guns and Women

I found that teachers that I dated had a gun allergy. Mention that you collect and they scratch you off their list. I married a pharmacist but when she said, "My Mother says you should sell all of your guns." that pretty much greased the skids for an early exit from the marriage. Her Mother was more important than I was.

I would tell a woman on the first date. Some of us older guys have collections that fill more than one room. You can't hide the things in one closet.

My wife knew I liked weapons from the second time we met. That was about 20 years ago. Now, due to space shortage and the crisis, I have about half my collection stored in our bed room, three boxes of three Kwk40 rounds included. She doesn't say a word... just reminds me from time to time that I should clean dust off

Happily, I have never had to weasel or cajole the women in my life regarding my firearms. I have received total acceptance.

With pieces like the attached pistol in my collection I shall never give up my collection for another person.
