I have 2 of these weapons that I aquired when I was living in Bitburg Germany but really know nothing about them except the story the old guy gave me. One of them is a double barrel .22LR version marked BLN-44-SS R.V.F.Z Nr. 2 and the other one is a single barrel 9mm that has some patent markings and is ser. no. 1 and is dated 1939 I believe. I've heard conflicting comments that they were never made during the war, they are all repros, they are very rare and original, the coolest thing since sliced bread, etc. etc. etc.... They both work and are in very good condition. I put the word out on a few other forums but haven't gotten much of a reply. I am hoping that some people here could shed some light on these. Any input, comments or what ever are more than welcome.

All of your comments in your initial post are quite applicable. Many opinions and few if any facts. They are an unknown and unsubstantiated. There has been one article that I know of in Waffen Revue some years ago. The LW eagle is a new one on me. The clarity of the posts on the web site were bad for me, but I could tell the stamping on the reverse seemed to indicated individual letters punches were used to spell the word. Notice the uneven line? I would seem any company manufacturing a concealable weapon in the III Reich would have a prepared stamp and not have to resort to spelling each word with a variety of letter stamps.
