K98 muzzel cover question

Were the muzzel covers stamped (WaA) with the appropriate waa's where the rifle was manufactured, or were only stamped by who made them. Were they made seperately from where the rifle was manufactured/assembled? What I am trying to say is were they matching to where the rifle was maded, or were they seperately made, and just placed on whatever rifle. Thanks for any help.

You can find muzzel covers with the approiate WaA nunber corresponding to the manufacture of the rifle ie: 63 Mauser, 37 Sauer, and others.. You can find covers numbered to their rifles, and you can find commercial maker marks, letter code marked ones and an abundance of WaA number marked ones that did not match up with the rifle makers..See the thread on 98k muzzel covers...BILL
