Carcano with Tropical MP38/40 Sling- per request.

This is a Mod. 38 Cavalry Carbine made by FNA- Brescia.
It is dated 1941, serial number "XN-491".
Fairly common with rifle with a fairly uncommon sling.

        Hi

Can you show more pics of the sling. Like the stitching and the end of the sling.

I recognice the buckle pin and mark(D&C) as early-begin war. D&C made buckle pins wich are pritty big and flat. S-tree-C made them pritty big and wide. L&F (mostly begin war) made smaller buckle pins with machined edges etc.

D&C had also an other stamp before the war(smaller and fat)..like 1937-38, I thin they started with an much thinner and little bit bigger stamp in 1939-40-41.(like on your buckle)

It`s hard to say the exact year, because there were a few buckle makers..wich delivered there buckles to the leather factories wich produced the slings. It`s possible that the factory had FE one marked early buckle...wich he sewed on a 1944 sling. That`s all possible. I know that happend with L&F buckled a lot. The other marks are not that regulair encounterd

So anyway the buckle looks good to me.

I think that some more pics will clear up a lot!!! Anyway I would love to see them. I have had 2000 slings trough my hands..saw strange slings..but never such a sling.

        best regards Tommy

            Tommy,
I'll take it off the rifle and get some out this afternoon.

              Nice

I think we all like to see that sling when it`s German production (I really hope so)

              best regards Tommy
