Sprinfield Rifle pre WW1 Cartouch

Does any one know whos the inspection intials on this cartouch I have pictured. And what the G stands for on the side. This would help a great deal.

That cartouche is for K.S. Morse. He was the inspector for Springfield Armory from 1898-1915. As for the G marking I have no idea.
