Excuse my language, but that is just f***ing awesome!!!!

So, was there anything left of those targets???

I've seen a 20mm cannon from a Me109 (I believe that is the MG151?)being fired once and it was awesome.
I've also had the privledge of watching some A10s with the 30mm GAU-8 7 barrel gatling gun fire as well. That gun is 21 feet long, and the rounds it fires are about a foot long! First you see the smoke from the gun, then you see the bullets hit the target, then you hear the roar about a second later!! That was impressive!!!

There is just nothing better than big bore cannons and machine guns!

Bill, I just love this thread!!! Got any more cannons to show us?? How about a 37mm flak gun? or a flakpanzer? or a quad 50? ( I did also see a video of Dillion shooting his quad 50! That was totally cool!)

                      Awesome !

Anybody got a picture of the newly made ammunition for this gun ?
What about the old ammo, surely these were no HE rounds, were they ?

                              Flak Info

In case anyone wants further info. on the gun you can e-mail me directly. It is mine and is from the batch that Germany sold to Portugal in '43 or '44. It is restored to firing condition and is registered as a dealer sample MG. I am a class 2 manufacturer. We fired 20 rounds in this outing including an original WP round which was quite a sight. It had no problems at all punching through 1/2 inch armor plate. It is hard to match the thrill of shooting it and seeing it in action. The 20x138B caliber is the same as the Finnish Lahti AT rifle and new made brass is available. I am on the lookout for 2CM Flak 30 or 38 items if anybody has anything related.

That looks like it was a lot of fun. Surprised the authorities even allow a live AA weapon in private hands considering the stuff you can't take onboard planes these days.

...and i thought i had fun this weekend testing my '42 dated Glühzündapparat 39 (detonator)

dontcha just love things that go boom!
