    Rear Sight problem

I'm having a problem with my rear sight on my K98. It sometimes moves after firing, ie.. the sight graduation part. Is this normal?, or is there a problem with the spring portion. It seems like it is not locking in place very well, and after firing it will move up abit to like the 150 to 200 meter portion. Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Mike

It's certainly not meant to happen. It must be the small press-in blocks that are somehow faulty. I have a similar problem with the left hand side press-in block on my Mosin Nagant. Luckily the sight stays where it is.

I have no idea if you can disassemble the sight on your K98k?

Do you think I could just replace the leaf portion, and solve this? Or, can these be rebuilt?

        Sight slide not locking

Usually this occurs when the locking teeth on the slidebar/button break off or are worn down, disassemble the sight and look at the button it should have 3-4 teeth that lock into the sight blade, this steel is hard and these tend to crack off; Ive also seen sights re-assembled wrong and will not lock like you are describing.

I am having alot of trouble trying to get the rear sight off. It appears to not have a retaining pin.. Is this normal on a K98k? Even without a pin, I cant get the rear leaf off the rear base. Any ideas that will help with this? I thought it should just pop off, with some pressure from a screwdriver, but it is very stubborn and wont come off. Any help with this would be appreciated, and if anyone knows off a really good K98k manual out there... Thanks again.
