          Stunning.

          Hi Bill,

i remember i had the pleasure of handling these back in Feb/March 2005..seeing one was remarkable enough, then you went digging around and found another!

          With the Shield!

          Amazing items.

          Patrick.

Are those holes cut out in order to deact them?

Yes... A hole has to be cut in the pressure area the size of the round, or bore of the DD.. Then a metal bar has to be welded at the intrance area of the round, to keep from loading the weapon...Now you can purchase a 'LIVE' DD if it was registered under the amesty of November 1968..And pay a 200$ transfeer fee for ownership of a live DD..Since no one would shoot one of these.. RPb54s (inert ammo being 3 to 500$ a round).. It is easier to own a deact one.. Same holds true for Japanese Knee mortars, and all other mortars, as long as they are DEACT, in this manner.. Some collectors have US 60 and 81mm live mortars that are registered and have paied the 200$ transfeer tax..And shoot them reguarly at Knob Creek Range.. More so the 60mm than the 81mm...BILL

                  Knob Creek

Hello.. I have been going to KCR since 1989, and each year there is a ever increasing present of Europeans that come to join in the excitement, and to see all the classic MG, DD and everything else, shootong and for sale, they generaly cannot beleive ther eyes and stay for the whole weekend.. There are several videos of The events at the KNC, but I dont know if they are on PAl.. Which I beleive is the format that Europe used.. I don't know if any are on DVD yet.. But the history Channel over here recently did a good story on KCR.. The program was (Mail Call) with R. Lee Ermy.. It was done well....... You should really try to make it some day....BILL
