    Rare Waffenamt question

How rare are ssza4 waffenamts?, and are they worth alot? There is a guy selling some, but wants quite abit of money for them. This guy is a real piece of work... Very arrogant and wont even post pictures of the damn weapons. Then he has the gall of not wanting to send me a picture and when ask why, he says, "I dont tell you how to run Your business". Oh well, piss on him, but just wanted to share this with ya. Later guys...
    Regards,
    MIke

    Rare is not the question--

    Mike, fellow Texican
This guy sounds like a real colonic distress!! I don't care how rare the piece is, if he acts that way, it'd be a cold day------- before I put up with that kind of treatment, much less buy something from him. Life's too short to deal with that kind of attitude.
Tell him to osculate your gluteus maximus!!

Its a K98 with the waffenamts I was talking about. But, He didnt have any pics of the guns he had, just the pic of the waffenamt! I called him on this, and want pics of the guns. He got pissed and started making stupid comments. It just made me wonder, why are you going to try and sell, what I think is an average Russian Capture for this kinda money (900), and your not even going to show me what the hell I am buying? You must be kidding...lol. I am not gonna fess-up my hard earn on that kinda BS deal. Here is the only pic He would post...

You need to post this information on a more high traffic arms site like Gunboards K98 forum. Vermin such as this need to be exposed and subjected to the ridicule and reduced business they have earned through their ignorant behavior.

And he wouldnt even tell what maker code the K98k had?

To me it sounds like a person who isnt serious about preserving historic items. It sounds more like he's trying to make some fast money on a less experienced buyer.

BTW could anybody explain what this WaA means? I haven't come upon it before? sszza2, you have a screen name almost identical to the one posted. Can you tell me what it is? Im curious

                P08,

The sszza4 marking is exclusive to standard SS rifles assembled or reworked within the KZ organization and was applied to the bbls of these assemblies during the period '42-'44.

The sszza2 marking is exclusive to double claw sniper rifles selected and converted from rifles obtained from Heer allocations, SS contracts or SS rework or assembly during this same approximate period. This marking was applied to the left side of the receiver and never legitimately applied to bbls.

I have no doubt that the seller of the subject rifle is a scammer. No legit person would be unwilling to answer questions or provide additional pictures. Run away from this scammers rifle.

So sszza markings are unique to weapons assembled under SS administration. Thanks I didnt know that.

What about the S-rune marked K98k's? Many are G98s converted to K98k. Will they have such a sszza marking?

Anybody who will not post any pictures or tell you any info is a big POS. Rest assured any dealings with people like this will leave you getting screwed. As the others have said "Run Away."

This bunghole could be trying to sell you a jacked up piece of crap if he isnt willing to send pictures. I could bet on it.

RUN AWAY. All the SS stamps I've seen are on the recievers and the stock (and they're probably fakes). The stuff was built in a regular factory, then shipped to whatever unit. Who's this guy trying to kid, the SS didn't have their own factory!!!

                            theinglebaby23,

You are correct about the subject rifle but incorrect about the SS not having their own factories. There is much documentation and photographic evidence to support that the SS assembled and/or reworked rifles within their own facilities. This accounted for one source for their supply of rifles.

And, according to the backbone of the wehrmacht, they had assembled actual assembly equipment in a concentration camp. It shows a small amount of production figures in the book...
