Differences German mg-15 and Jap 98 aircraft

Hey guys Ive got a deactivated dummy MG-15 from an estate and its tagged as the Japanese model 98 aircraft, which was either copied or imported from Germany according to my limited texts. The only difference I can see in this one is that the pistolgrip area is primarily wood and not metal and bakelite like the German issue. No Japanese markings on this item. Yes its for sale but I want to identify it correctly first.

Hi,

The numbers and marks stamped over the chamber do not seem to be German either... size and shape are different from what I´ve seen.
