    Stevens trenchgun

    Hi

recently i found a Stevens trenchgun with following markings

"Stevens arms comp. Chicopee Falls Mass. USA"

    "U.S. Property"
    "P" "Ghs"
    the model is a "620 A"

can anybody please tell me more about?

    regards
    Mike

The markings you describe are typical of the early 620's and are usually on long barrel training guns and 20" riot guns. Does this example have the ventilated handguard and bayonet lug like a trench or is it a riot type? Can you post or send me a photo so I can learn some more details about this one?

There has been a bit of speculation among U.S. shotgun collectors whether or not guns marked as yours were EVER built as trench guns or if the contracts for trench guns with bayonet mounts started after the markings had changed to the later style typical of the 520-30 and 620A models. I have never personally seen one with these markings that was an honest trench gun but would like to know more about yours.

      Hi,

the rifle where I am talking about, dosn' t have the ventilated handguard and bayonet lug. So it is surely a riotgun. ( But if you know where i can get this parts, please let me know)
