    Info needed about M95's

Hey everyone, I have a friend who has an old M95 and was wondering if anyone has any links or books that can explain more about the M95's. I was trying to see what is written on the reciever, but it is hard, it needs cleaning. It has the M95 and above it looks like SUU ..T(not too sure, I do know it is SU in beginning for sure) it is hard to read, and it appears that the stamp was not made hard enough. the barrel and receiver match. #1985. Don't know too much more about it. Like I said, it needs cleaning. I will try to gather more info. Thanks for any help.
    Regards,
    Mike

The M95's are very interesting rifles. I have a Hungarian M95. It's pretty salty and has the up dated Caliber. I think the original caliber versions are the more collectible ones. I saw a nice unit marked M95 in the 8x50 cal. It's for sale on some site for 750.00 USD. I got mine for about 350.00 USD.
The M95 looks like a plainer version of the Italian M91 Carcano.

William, do you know what country the M95 I mentioned might be from? I know, not much info, but its hard to read right now. Also, it appears to have been deactivated, it has a large oblong hole on top of the reciever area near barrel. Thanks.
          Regards,

            Vet Bring Back

I have a carbine version hanging over my fireplace, not because it is such a collectors piece but simply because it was the only weapon that my father brought home from WW2. He said it was the only rifle that he could fit into his duffle bag. I wish he had sent a Sturmgewehr though. There is a photo at the Dachau camp that shows a guard with a rifle version of the M-95 suggesting that they were issued to second or third line troops.
