P-38 Hardshell Holster gxy-1941 ?

Hello All,
I got this with a group of other items, and I was wondering if a marked " gxy 1941" was a common or more rare holster? I'm keeping it as I need it for my P-38....thanks for any help

Hi Karl,

gxy was one of the major holster makers and made a lot of P.38 holsters, both hard shell and soft shell. However, 1941 holsters are kind of hard to find. It does appear that your example has been heavily dyed. On all examples that I have seen, the stitching is white. Look inside the holster and, if it hasn't been dyed also, you can see what the original stitching looked like.

Thanks Leon, It looks like some of the inside was also dyed.
