    Hello everybody,

Since a long time ago, i want in my collection a MG42.
So, last week, I found in FRANCE a dealer selling I think around 15 MG42 for 1200 euros each.... A big price !!

But it's hard to find one now...

So, I want to know what do you think of dealer pics ????

    I don't want to buy a POST-WAR MG:
    How to make the difference enter a good WW2 MG42 and a POST-war ???

Have you got good pictures ???

    THANKS from FRANCE....

            Have a look....

            Dear Sir,

As soon as I saw the first piture the very first thought that went through my mind was...."aha so here are some of those Bundesheer (Austrian Army) wartime MG42's". I know where their were quite a few in France and they were available about 3 years ago for 900 euros but the price is going up now.

These is due to many factors but the German de-activation laws have changed since April 1st 2003 and they are alot more strict now, and many of these were de-actvated in Germany before April 2003.

I notice that on the Gun with serial nunber 3058 their is a very faint oval stamp to the right side of the number. This could be an Austrian Army marking. If so then they could be from that source.

If they are ex-Austrian Army guns then I would get down their and buy one. These guns have the least amount of de-activication anywhere, US buyers would kill for one but obvously can't get them in, and the younger/newer German collectors are going crazy for them. Their were only 10,000 released. They were de-activated by just 3 holes drilled in the barrel, a small amount of weld in the chamber to prevent a round being chambered, and a small spot weld on the firing pin hole on the bolt. They are completely lagal to wn but their won't be anymore ! Basically if the barrel comes out then I would buy it. Prices for these are going higher and higher all the time, 5 years ago they were half this price.

Look for the converted feeder tray for 7.62mm nato rounds it will have a small piece of metal sticking up in the middle of the feed tray. Also inside booster the apatture will be only 9mm on the the muzzle cone.

Choose carefully and best of luck.

            Regards Craig.

Nothing wrong with those guns. In the US the price would be very cheap!
