    WWII .45 values

Please be easy on me and forgive me my ignorance (its Easter, tis the season to forgive) But I was wondering what would be the value range on a WWII issued Remington Rand Inc. Syracuse NY USA and FJA stamped by safety. COndition is great and I don't have the gun in hand but could get the serial numbers. Any help here would be great and again I apologize for my stupidity.

    Hello Kurt,

Based on your description it could bebetween 600 and 900 dollars. On the other hand if it is really nice...95%+ then you are over the 1000 mark.

      Good Advice

      Kurt,
Gary is giving you good advice. These WWII pistols are easily fetching 1K if in any kind of shape at all.

        Value

A truely 100% original un-jacked with 99% condition Remington will bring over $1500,00 today. I sold a 90% condition arsnal refinish (AA) for $1200 last week at Tulsa Gun Show.

Just because you sold it for a massive price doesnt mean they cannot be acquired for fractions of that value. Infact, me searching as much as I do while in college I find the going rate to be close to 900 in 95+.Some people go to shows and crooked dealers ask high prices, this doesnt mean thats an actual selling price, suckers are found every day.

There is a retail price and then there is the get out and dig price. Most people don't have the time to get out and dig so they pay the people who do. Look at it this way. If you calculate the number of hours that are spent looking for stuff and the actual price that is finally realised on those very rare great finds, you could not consider the dealers thieves, at least not if you are in your right mind.

Sounds like you are referring to a type 3 Remington Rand and in 95%+ condition they will bring about $1200. Up to $15-1600 in 99%. If you have a type 2 it's slightly higher and if you happen to run across a type 1 Remington Rand they are up around $3500 for a 95% gun. $4000 for 98-99% gun. The type refers to the slide logo.

                slide logo

I agree on the slide logo, those can obviously bring serious money. However again, those can just as easily be stumbled upon with minimal work. Calling everyone in the local paper that has a firearm for sale (4 to 8) and asking what else they have takes 5 minutes of my day, not really that much of a buster in the grand scheme of things. My experience with most dealer is they are rude and happy to alter things. The ones that have some honor and integrity sit on the highest prices.

I wonder what planet you live on because it sure is not this one. The number of 'dealers' who have the skill to alter a plain jane RR into a more desirable one is numbered by the fingers of one hand. All the others are easily spotted by even a novice. Additionally if you can truly find desireable firearms as easily as you claim, then you are wasting your time at the Citadel. You would be far better served becoming a rare gun dealer.
