    My "MP44"

    Images link: http://rdperry.com/mp44.html
For those of you who haven't had a good close up look at one of the Shoei model guns, they are quite impressive -- and the closest thing I'll ever have to a pristine MP44.

The Kurz ammo is live, headstamped hla st 17 44.

The booklet is a reproduction of my own making. I shot the photos using my Shoei and re-set all the type, printed it on a laser printer, trimmed and assembled it, then "aged" it.

Nice replica. Nice movie. One thing though to the shooter of the weapon. Never hold your finger on the trigger while loading ammo into the chamber. The trigger finger should only be there when the weapon is on the target.

              Cheers.

nope there is i beleve a plug cap fireing one but they are crap and have never seen one for sale this was a model that can chamber and eject rounds works just like an origional but no fireing pin and the barrel blocked and weak metal so it can fire live rounds

hmmmm.. the plug caps are bad? How bad? :P hehehe and by the way, issnt it possible to rebuild many of the "cap fireing" ones to blank fireing bullets?

This is the one I got http://www.modelguns.co.uk/wwiithompson.htm any pros or con's?

                        Shoei cost

I ordered mine directly from Shoei in Japan for $879 USD.

I've seen them selling for $500 more elsewhere. I got the "model" version for the most realism internally. The barrel is mostly solid and there is no firing pin. It wil cycle and eject rounds when cocked. They make gas blowback versions for firing BBs, but they have a hose that comes out of the bottom of the grip. The metal is quality is nowhere near strong enough to fire live rounds, or blanks for that matter IMO.
