    Walther PP ?

    Hi folks,

    I recently purchased an early model Walther PP with the RFV on the backstrap. I have seen several PP's and PPK's with the markings on the front but can't recall if I have ever seen it written on the backstrap. What's your opinion on this matter? Lastly are both the slide and frame stamped with the serial number? I could not find any indication of the serial number on the inside or outside of this slide. I purchased the PP from a dealer who offers a money back guarantee if not satisfied. Thanks and I will post several pictures.

    Cheers,
    Craig

          If I'm reading it correctly...

          RFV = Reichs-Finanz-Verwaltung

          You've got the tax collector's pistol. Apparently they had more stringent tax evasion penalties.

            Walther Pp

            Hi Craig:
            Nice looking pistol.Hold on to it and do not worry about the last three digits not being visible inside the slide,they just lightly scratched those in and after years of use.
            By the way the production year of your pistol is 1932.It should have the steel insert molded in the grips to be correct.
            Best Regards
            Danny

              Nice Walther PP, A person could really get in to these pistols... The Germans made neat pistols did they not!

                Thanks Danny,
                It does indeed have the metal insert. If possible could you provide a picture of all three types of grips for the pre-1946 Walther PP?
                Thanks,
                Craig
