Translation needed

I would like to have this translated. It is engraved on the side of a pistol I have. Some of the letters may not be right.

Modar:
The first word makes no sense. Is it more than one word? I'm guessing Für, or for, is the first word.
Leistungen are sporting achievements. Is Jagdschutz actually Jagdschütz? Schutz and Schütz are two different words. Jagdschütz is hunting markmanship.
The inscription appears to be an award for excellence.
Landesverein is a provincial or state club or association, in this case likely a shooting or hunt club.
Posen is a former Prussian province, now Poznan in Poland.

Your inscription reads in German: Fur verdienstvolle Leistungen im Jagdschutz / A.D.J.V.(Allegeimeine Deutsche Jagdschutzverein e.V.) / Landesverein Provinz Posen. This translates as
For Meritorious Service in Hunting Protection / Chartered Universal German Association for the Protection of Hunting / State Association Province Posen. The ADJV was deeply involved in the protection of hunting rights and the fight against poaching in the Imperial and Weimar era. They often rewarded Game Wardens and members of the Prussian rural police (Landjagerei) with comemorative weapons or bayonets. If I may ask, what kind of a pistol is it?

Nice presentation Dreyse modar. Serial range in the 200,000 or earlier? I recall reading of another presentation Dreyse on a militaria forum.
