    Original 8mm ammunition

Can anyone tell me on average what original German 8x57 (8mm) ammunition is selling for, in the 15 round paper/cardboard box, all matching 1944 dated? This is not the Steyr stuff, thanks very much,
    Joe

    Hello,
I paid $5 a box in the original cardboard with label. It was at a gunshow, and the ammo was dated 39, 40, and 42 I think.

        8mm Prices

        Hello Joe,

How is everything going out your way?

Here in Winnipeg, they go for $20-25. I am guessing that they are lacqured steel? If they are the brass casings, or tracer or Mg ammo they go for $30-40. However there is probably more supply in your area than there is mine so the prices might be a little lower.

Since they are all matching, is the box still sealed?

        Hope this helps,

        Cam

They start at about $10-15. It depends on the type of round. S.m.E. is about $10. Rare rounds can cost quite a bit more. The average armor piercing tracer is about $15-20. Certain rounds as the multi-color tracer and tropical rounds will cost more. Matching rounds to box and with label. Not that rare at big gun shows like Allentown, Pa.

So, it depends on the round.

Joe I just bought a box of 1942 8mm at a ammo show and paid 20.00 for it.The box was in excellent shape, you could still see the box makers stamp inside the top flap. 10 of the rounds matched the label on the box but the other 5 was from a different German manufacture but they was the same type as the other 10. I dont know if I got taken or not but I was willing to pay the price especially for the shape the box was in.I can tell you this much I would always check the Gun Shows and came up empty handed untill a buddy told me about this Ammo show and they had it.
