    RZM marked ppk

    Hello all,
I would like help with a vet captured Walther PPK. It is RZM marked on the left side of the slide. There are no waffenampts on it. Is there any significance to the pistol being RZM marked?

    Thank you,
    PG

    Party

The RZM PPk is a very desireable, Nazi Party authorized side arm for leaders of the party (OFFICIALS).. There are many references on this type PPK...BILL

Paul, you pistol was one of a contract of 20-30,000 guns between the Walther firm and the NSDAP. Of course the RZM signified the pistol was authorized by the Reichszeugmeiserei, the party procurement office. The guns were made from 1934 through 1936 and sold to members of the party who could receive a discount by buying in quantity and could pay over time. As Bill pointed out, these were the first guns recognized by the party as the official sidearm of its Political Leaders. Might I ask if you pistol has the serial number stamped on the underside of the slide beneath the muzzle? Some were issued that way with matching magazines indicating purchase by a police unit. I would appreciate it if you would share the serial number with us, by PM if you wish, for our data base. Thanks.

          Hello Joe,
The pistol is still with the vet who captured it. I was able to see all of his war goodies this weekend. I will be having another meeting with him in the future. When I get that information, I will forward it to you via PM.

Nice looking rig, just an example I recently purchased one for 550$, but it was only about 70% or so on the bluing. I priced these out on the net before buying, a trashed pitted example went for around 450$, while a real nice specimen averaged 1200-1500$. Chris...

I have seen these guns in the 2000 plus range for ones in 98% cond. They are becoming hard to find so if you get a chance buy it!
