    Garand trouble

    Hello friends,

Today I was to shoot with my garand, and I have a problem with him. Does not it throw the clip outside late of the last bullet. The bullet turns out outside well but the clip remains inside and the bolt closes.
    That can be?
I use UMC remington 150 grains 30-06 can be this? but before I used the same and not have this problem.

    Many thanks for your help.

    Cheers,

    Maxi.

If you put in an empty clip and then fuly cycle the bolt will it pop out as it should?

If your rifle short cycles the clip will remain within the weapon. Ammunition could be the cause of that or a partially blocked gas port. A worn gas cylinder/operating rod will cause the same malfunction as well

Also remove the trigger housing and check you clip ejection spring. It looks like a U shaped wire rod with an L at the end of it. The L portion is in the front of your trigger housing while the rest is within your trigger housing under your safety.

Hope this helps you out some. Let us know what you come up with.

In that case check your gas port in the barrel for fouling and get your gas tube and op rod end checked for wear. Also try different ammunition.

The piston can be repaired, but usually, it's better ecomonically to replace the operating rod.

Very happy to hear that our friends in Argentina still enjoy private ownership of firearms. Hopefully it stays that way for a long time.

                Take care.

Proper lubrication is very important. Enjoy the rifle!
