    Help on MAB 'D' markings

Was almost ready to buy an MAB model D, but the barrel does not have the serial number.
I'm using both Axis Pistols & German Pistols and Holsters for my info. The last 2 digits of the S/N should be stamped inside the slide and beneath the barrel. The one I was ready to buy only has the Eagle test proof on the barrel.
would this be a replacement barrel that a field armorer installed ? He says everything else matches, WaA251 and about 98% finish.
He also checked another Model D and it was the same way.

The only thing I could think of was a replacement barrel, but correct for that time period.

    Any ideas

    Hi Don,

    I recently found one too.
    See http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130948

Does it has the last 2 digits repeated on the slide ?
My barrel has no marks except the MAB logo and caliber. So no firing proof or s/n repeated.
I know they say in the books it has to be the way you describe but these pistols where quite used after the war too. So i would not worry too much. Your's is even better than mine as you have the firing proof, so..

Can you tell the s/n or range ? Mine is rather early in German production.
Please post some pics, i love these guns

    Greets,
    Kris

I don't have it yet, was trying to decide if it was correct and then buy. S/N was 77585 & if I remember correctly put it in the correct S/N range.

IMHO, don't worry about the barrel...

        Good luck,
