    item help

    A colleague of mine found a couple of artefacts while working on a building site in Garmisch Germany and being so kind as to let me have them, I would like to find out exactly what they are, I don’t know anything about firearms so if anyone could tell me what the markings mean on the bullet casing also if you know what the little Bakelite bottle was used for.

        Paul, The plastic bottle was issued with the service gas mask.....It contained an ointment for treating blistering caused by gas (like mustard gas)....An anti-blistering agent I believe.....Bodes

          The markings on the bottom of bullet: Sellier & Bellot, Prague (Czech) made in September 1938.

            Now your reply makes me ask the question why a Czech bullet would find it way to what I believe was a German stronghold.
            Also Thank you Bodes for the info on the plastic bottle I was thinking it was maybe for gun oil but as I said I am a novice and your advice has helped me understand that little bit more.
