    Who Made This '98 Stock?

    Hi guys,
I'm curious as to who made this 98 stock. As can be seen it looks like a cut down inter-war Gew 98, but with a late-war butt-plate?
Waffenampted crossbar head, '1' stamped into the bayonet lug, and two 'P's into the wood at both milled out ends of the magazine. That's all.
Thanks for any help anyone can provide
    Mark.

                  Mark,

This is a typical Israeli post war stock. The giveaway is the grasping grooves and the front bandspring arrangement. Hope this helps.

                    Hi Mike,
Thanks for that. I was wondering about the similarities to the inter-war cut down Gew98's, and thought that it might have been one of those stocks? Then issued to the Isreali's My reference of Backbone of the Wehrmacht shows some very similar, including finger-grooves, the only exception being the late cupped butt-plate.
                    Again, Many Thanks
                    Mark.
